ENVIRONMENT AND AGRICULTURE.
Environmental degradation and encroachment of the water catchment, river banks has over the years led to a complete season change in Uganda with a change in rain pattern and a dropped in the level of rivers, swamps with some wetlands and surface water drying off. This has seen the underground water table becoming deeper in the last 4 years. Due to the climate change with un even rainfall the farming pattern has been affected leaving farmers with only 2-3 months for farming in a year, leading to drought with the worst making communities to relay on relief food.
Poor farming method, environmental degradation has affected water catchment and buffer zone which may result in the drop of water quality and yield if the trend continues.
JF Well Works Africa trained and support communities to restore degraded environment and encourage them to protect environment by planting trees and build their capacity on sustainable use of the existing water resources.
JF Well works Africa create awareness within the communities and encourage them to adopt environmental friendly farming methods and use of the appropriate technology and equipment and do encourage communities to use the water from the bore holes for farming fast maturing food crops during long dry season.
